where i'm going next ...
this is what iv'e come across and definatly looking into next ...
While I was waiting for my mum, I went inside a famous toy shop in Trinoma and fancied these kaleidoscopes. I wondered, “If I could share what beauty I could see, others would be happy too.”Voila. With my camera phone, I took abstract photos of what’s in those cylinders of colour. Hope you enjoy it.(- -,)V
lightss...
The De Luminarie Cagna. A giant colonnade made of wood and hundreds of thousands of LEDs. The entrance area is an imposing 28 meters high. The audience walks into a fairy tale gallery, surrounded by light and color.
what iv'e come across which is really interesting
By Maggi Hambling, I have always had a proclivity for art made about or relating to water, the sea being the epitome of power and beauty, these paintings could not capture it more perfectly. You get a feeling of energy and power from just looking at them, the brush strokes and texture the water seems ready to wash right through the canvas and into the space they inhabit.“The older I get I identify with the land which is being eroded, the sea is like time - you can do nothing about it. Death will come, the sea will come. It’s a metaphor for life.”

In collaboration with sound artist Spencer Topel, sculptor Soo Sunny Park has created a radiant interactive installation that audibly responds to movement. The large-scale piece, entitled Capturing Resonance, hangs from the third floor ceiling of deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum in Massachusetts, illuminating the tight corridors.
JORDAN EAGLES
BAR 1-9 | 2009 | 8’ x 32’ overall | Blood preserved on plexiglass, UV resin | Right side view
The multi layers of blood and resin used to create this work, some which can be up to three inches thick, allow onlookers to delve into the painting. Each viewing allows the discovery of the nuances Jordan is able to create by manipulating his medium, such as delicate cracking to concentrated fields of uniformity. Color is also a central theme with ranges of rich browns to crimson reds, sometimes mixing metallic pigments, all issuing distinct luminosity to the work.

Bourrasque in an art installation created by London-based designer Paul Cocksedge. It’s meant to represent a large collection of papers blowing away in the wind. Made for France’s City of Lyon’s annual Festival of Lights, each sheet of “paper” is made from a special conductive material that lights up when a current is passed through it. All are the exact size of a standard piece of printer paper and were formed by hand to obtain their dynamic shapes. Over 200 sheets make up this installation as it stretches over 80ft in length. Awesome!See more photos of the Bourrasque installation over at My Modern Metropolis!
wow
Olmid Gozar’s portraits of insects remind me of yearbook photos. I can’t help assigning personalities to these creatures when they appear to be looking directly at me, and especially not when the guy on the top is giving me his“Blue Steel”.

more thingssss.......
all these photos have given me ideas about how to use colour and light and my main thoughts were because i concentrate on colour so much and it has a big deal to me that if i make a room filled with colour would other people like it or would it be too harsh ? then perhaps projecting flashing colours on walls so it unbearable !
from feedback..
I have learnt that my strengths and positives of my work are the colour the pattern and movement and how it flows is and the understanding I have between painting and photography and I will be carrying this on in this semester but I am struggling to find a theme or ground that covers this criteria of pattern and flow and colour cause if I find a theme this helps me to research but what ??? hmmmmm
Projection...
from research into projection i really want to give this ago and become almost installation artist I really like the idea of projecting on a wall either with a over head projector or a a simple data projector heres a few ideas i saw to give me inspiration !
