By Maggi Hambling, I have always had a proclivity for art made about or relating to water, the sea being the epitome of power and beauty, these paintings could not capture it more perfectly. You get a feeling of energy and power from just looking at them, the brush strokes and texture the water seems ready to wash right through the canvas and into the space they inhabit.“The older I get I identify with the land which is being eroded, the sea is like time - you can do nothing about it. Death will come, the sea will come. It’s a metaphor for life.”
this blog is to show my influences and artists that inspire me through out the whole of my fine art degree at staffordshire university. you will be seeing alot of colour content in my work as this is my speciality. Most of my posts will be about what is going on at uni and tasks I have been set. I hope you enjoy and get inspired by my work.
